St. Mary's Altar Guild
Membership in the St. Mary's Altar Guild is by annual appointment of the Rector. Members must be communicants in good standing in St. John's Cathedral. Members of St. Mary's Altar Guild are expected to attend all corporate communions and meetings of the Guild (unless specifically excused by the clergy); to serve in preparing for services and caring for the altars, vestments, vessels, and other ornaments as scheduled; and in general. whether scheduled or not, at all times to be responsible for neatness, cleanliness, and order in the sanctuaries and sacristy. Junior Altar Guild members are to help in Altar Guild work whenever possible. The Guild has as its Officers a Directress, an Assistant Directress, a Treasurer, a Secretary and other appointed committees. Vows are renewed every two years. The Altar Guild is financially supported in its work by special gifts, bequests, monies from the Altar Guild Endowment Fund, and by Vestry approval. The Altar Guild does not engage in fund raising activities. Regular meetings will be held on the 1st Sunday in February, Passion Sunday, Pentecost Sunday, The Sunday after the September Ember Days, and Advent Sunday. OFFICERS Directress: Sue Bruce Asst.
