Our Worship

At St. John's, we offer much opportunity for worship. Now you won't find the popular "entertainment style" of service complete with bands, video and light shows. While there is certainly a place for fun and entertainment, worship should be directed toward God and pleasing to Him, rather than being designed to entertain and please us. At St. John's you will find such worship. Centered in the Mass (or Holy Eucharist) as well as Daily Morning and Evening Prayer, this "liturgical" style of worship is rich in Christian Spirituality and Biblical Faith, and has been consistent throughout the history of the Christian Church.

Fr. Strawn and Deacon Akright pray Evening Prayer just before a Daily Mass

Fr. Strawn begins Daily Mass with the Collect for Purity (a prayer for purification of our souls in preparation for our worship).
